Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a disorder that affects the large intestine (colon) but does not permanently damage it. Symptoms include abdominal cramping, pain and bloating, constipation and diarrhea. IBS can often be controlled by reducing stress, making dietary and lifestyle changes, and using medication.
